I am delighted to have sold this stunning RHD E-Type Lightweight Roadster, finished in beautiful Ecosse Blue with white racing strip.
The work lavished upon the car has been extensive with a no-expense spared, bare metal restoration and conversion to Lightweight specification. The interior has been fitted with new lightweight bucket seats trimmed impeccably in Black leather and red four point harness belts mounted to the fully painted T45 roll cage.
Using his own excellent condition E-type Roadster as the starting point for the conversion, a 1968 original 4.2 Roadster with matching number engine imported from America in 2004, the single UK owner has completed a total transformation utilising only the very best lightweight specification “Rod Jay” aluminium panel work, components and performance parts throughout.
Upon it’s completion at the end of 2014, at it’s shake down the car proved to be as thrilling as expected with fabulous performance from the CKL Developments uprated 4.2 engine combined with Mallory ignition and mated to the 5speed Borg Warner gearbox allowing its full potential to be used as either a fast road or front running competition car.
With only a few miles since its MOT in December ’14, it is spotless throughout and in showroom condition. So it is now ready with FIVA papers to be thoroughly enjoyed by a new keeper in a wide variety of Club Events, Sprints and Hill Climbs.
A substantial photographic record and history file of the rebuild are available upon inspection and the car comes with its original Jaguar Owners manual, complete with its very first Jaguar service booklet and customer chassis tag.
